There are many resources in Philadelphia which assist homeowners with home repairs, modifications, utilities, mortgages, insurance and other issues. The type of repairs needed, and the homeowner's financial resources will determine which program is most appropriate.

ModificationsUtilitiesIn addition to these resources, PCA has four programs which provide repairs and modifications to consumers. The specific services provided, and eligibility requirements vary. For details, contact the Helpline, or the numbers listed below.
There is a waiting list for most programs.
Provides home modifications, durable medical equipment and assistive devices to support caregiving. These may include grab bars, tub seats, air conditions and other services to increase the care recipient’s independence.

Provides clinically necessary assistive devices and adaptations to consumers enrolled in PCA's Long Term Care Options program. These services are designed to enable the consumer to remain at home and avoid nursing home placement. They may include the installation of railings, grab bars or intercom systems.

Provides home modifications and repairs to enhance the safety and security of those enrolled in the Health Partners Silver Plan. These may include grab bars, lift chairs, reachers, tub seats or other necessary safety modification or repairs.

Completes minor repairs and modifications for homeowners age 60 and older. Repairs and modifications may include bathroom modifications; installing wrought iron railings; fixing doors; steps, locks, and leaking faucets; and installing smoke alarms and repairing or replacing stair railings.
